Real Ghosts in a Ghost Town

Bodie is registered as a California Historical Landmark, but the ghost town officially became Bodie State Historic Park in 1962, and receives about 200,000 visitors annually. There are reputedly a number of haunted houses.

The Cain House is haunted by a Chinese Maid, who is seen there. Audible, kinetic and tactile effects have been reported here also.

The Gregory House is haunted by a old woman in a rocking chair.

The Mendocini House is haunted by the smell of cooking and the sounds of a children party.

Apparitions of former residents and that of a white mule have been reported around the remnants of the town.
