According to Norman and Scott, the area known as Lapland Woods is a dangerous place, and one that you should only venture into with a knowledgable guide during the fall or winter months. It is worth mentioning that deadly rattlesnakes are to be found here.
However, these woods are reputedly haunted by one Leah Smock, a woman accused of witchcraft in the early 19th century. She lies in a graveyard set in the thick of Lapland Woods.
It is alleged that she has been sighted hovering near grave.
