The Middleton Tavern has been an inn since 1750, having been built some 10 years previously.
The building is reputedly haunted by the apparition of a man wearing 18th century clothing.
He stands looking out across the river from his position in the dining room. Some witnesses have claimed to see shadowy figures in the same room.
Other effects include objects being moved such as plates, glasses and tables.
